Lenticular

A work in which disposable mice are enclosed in containers

In Japan, both mice and containers serve to support human life, yet once used, they are easily discarded.

To provoke change in this reality, the concept of “lenticularity” where appearances shift depending on the viewer’s perspective was chosen as a thematic foundation.
Each title of the works is accompanied by words resonating with the notions of “parting” and “reverence,” echoing The Tale of Genji and its chapter “At the End, the Path of Farewell.”

The following is a poem composed by connecting the titles of these works:

“What was the last thing John Langdon Down saw serene light or fleeting foam? Hope at an impasse, yet the saint marches on. No need for change give it all. Demons out, fortune out. It is humans who begin, and humans who cannot end. Dreaming beneath cherry blossoms, borrowing and borrowing again. Until we meet once more. In a world unwanted, in a world beautiful. In silence, where nature, the divine, imitation, and sacrifice all reside.”

And next, I too will be discarded.What will I part with, and what will I be wrapped in?

レンチキュラー

使い捨てのマウスを容器で包んだ作品

日本においてマウスと容器は、人の生活を支える存在でありながら、一度使用されると容易に捨てられてしまう現状がある

この状況に変化を促すため、視点によって見え方が変わる「レンチキュラー」の概念をコンセプトとし、各作品のタイトルには、源氏物語「限りとて別るる道」に通じる「別れ」や「尊さ」の言葉も包みこむように添えた

以下は、それらのタイトルをつなげた詩である

「ジョン・ラングドン・ダウンが、最後にみたものは寂光か、泡沫か。手詰まりの希望、聖者は行進をする。変化はいらない、ぜんぶよこせ。鬼も外、福も外。はじめるも人、おえられぬも人。桜花に夢寐、それに借着よ借着。またいつか会いましょう。望まない世界で、美しい世界で、静寂に包まれた自然も主も真似事も供犠も」

やがて私も使い捨てられ、何と別れ、何に包まれるのか
