Tokyo Mimicry is a series that expresses the admiration, consumption, and dependency embedded in the city of Tokyo through multiple bodily figures.

The models appear as beings who attempt to adapt to the desires of the city, while at the same time absorbing those desires excessively and undergoing transformation. The ornaments and foreign objects attached to their bodies take shape as a desire to become someone else within the city. Although they appear to imitate beauty or sacredness, they are formed from objects and signs that are consumed and eventually discarded.

Their emaciated, damaged bodies reflect a contemporary condition in which admiration for foreign cultures and luxury brands is consumed excessively, almost like a drug.

In this series, mimicry is not only a form of adaptation to the environment, but also a process in which the self is altered by desire.
