This work takes Joseph Kosuth’s practice as its starting point, expanding the structure in which a single thing branches into multiple meanings through the medium of transparent liquids.

Transparent liquids appear, at first glance, to look the same.
Water, rainwater, tears, sweat, holy water, intravenous fluid, pesticide solution, security marking fluid — and more.

Though visually close to one another, the moment a name is given, each begins to carry an entirely different role.
A single transparency is never merely transparent.

Transparent liquids transform into substances of entirely different meaning depending on the perspective through which they are seen — human, animal, plant, time, artificial intelligence, peace, or war.

By looking at the same thing through different eyes, this work is an attempt to question the very act of seeing and naming.

本作は、ジョセフ・コスースの作品を起点に、ひとつのものが複数の意味へ分岐していく構造を、透明な液体によって拡張した作品である。

透明な液体は、一見すると同じように見える。
水、雨水、涙、汗、聖水、点滴液、農薬溶液、防犯液など。

それらは視覚的には近い存在でありながら、名前を与えられた瞬間に、まったく異なる役割を帯びはじめる。

ひとつの透明は、ただの透明ではない。

透明な液体は、人間、動物、植物、時間、人工知能、平和、戦争といった複数の視点によって、まったく異なる意味を持つ物質へと変わっていく。

同じものを異なる目で見ることで、見ること・名づけることの意味そのものを問い直す試みである。
