When we encounter a tire with low air pressure,
we may, in fact, be sensing the breath of a stranger.

This work focuses on the culture of shared bicycles in Japanese cities,
and on the nature of human breathing.

The phrase “Free Air” carries layered meanings—
from gravity corrections in geoscience to signs of abnormality in medicine.
Each of these reflects subtle shifts or urgencies that are invisible to the eye,
perhaps like the fatigue or anxiety left behind by someone who last rode the cycle.

Perhaps it is not the tire that truly needs air,
but us.

本作は、日本の都市におけるシェアサイクル文化と、人々の呼吸のあり方に着目した作品である

「Free Air」という言葉には、地球科学における重力補正、医療における異常の兆候といった異なる文脈が潜んでいる。それらは、目に見えない「ずれ」や「緊急性」を伝えるサインでもあり、シェアサイクルを利用した誰かの焦りや疲労のようにも映る

空気が本当に必要なのは、タイヤではなく、私たちのほうなのかもしれない
